OT Need newsgroup info

Question:

Hi all, I am switching ISP’s at the end of the month and my new ISP doesn’t have a news server. Most of my newsgroups I follow have their own but I am going to need to find a free (if they exist) news server or subscrible to one, to get the alt type groups. Any suggestions or links are much appreciated… Thanks, Dave

Thanks for the posts to all that gave me some links. Has anyone heard anything about this place? Looks like a deal at the price… Dave www.teranews.com – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > http://www.newzbot.com/

I’d hate to give an unknown company, with no address listed, my credit card number. That 50mb/day limit seems undefined as well. you could be looking at "overage" charges on your card. Some digging found the following: Registrant:    TeraNews.com    P.O Box 25    South Bend, IN 46624 There seems to be a problem with these folks according to http://news2web.com/cgi-bin/dnewsweb.exe?cmd=article&group=news.admin…  – Steve Spence Renewable energy and sustainable living http://www.green-trust.org Discuss vegetable oil and biodiesel powered diesels at http://www.veggievan.org/discuss/

Steve, thanks for the added info. I was hesitant too when I looked at their site in the "About" section as it seemed a bit vague. I only download about 1 MB a week so I thought I would have been safe there but I will keep looking… Dave – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I’d hate to give an unknown company, with no address listed, my credit card > number.
